I believe in transparency and as the Founder and President of this very special organization, I wanted to share our financials and the projects we completed this year.  Here’s a look at how The Caleb Cares Project impacted the Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee community in 2023!

Donations Received: $29,968.68

Money put back into the community: $20,370 including $3,312 donated to local athletics and the $3,000 Caleb Joseph Slate Scholarship Award! We:

  • Hosted 2 fundraising events: The Annual Live Dessert and Silent Auction for the Scholarship and the Caleb Cares 5K!
  • Attended 3 local events to promote and share our organization with the community.
  • Hosted a Spring clean up event at the West Creek School Campus.
  • Provided more than 50 preschoolers with weekend snack bags each Friday of the school year.
  • Donated 28 backpacks and school supplies to Youth Villages for their Backpack Hero event.
  • Donated books to the Northeast High School Library in honor of Caleb.
  • Bought and delivered 54 Christmas gifts to the students of the Kenwood and Lincoln Homes Head Start classes.
  • Joined together with 15 other local heroes to fulfill Christmas wish lists for foster kids through the Youth Villages Holiday Heroes event.
  • Participated in community clean up after the tornado on December 9, 2023.
  • Stocked a young man’s kitchen with groceries after he moved due to losing his apartment in the tornado.

A Look Ahead:

  • We will continue to provide the weekend snack bags and grow our support to local Head Start classrooms.
  • The Annual Dessert Auction will be on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 5:00!
  • Our Board and local volunteers are discussing the possibility of a new fundraising event to replace the 5K, but no decision has been made yet.  We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop!
  • We will take up donations of fun, happy and silly socks and gift cards to donate to local families who were impacted by the tornado.
  • The Caleb Cares Swim League will start a new season.
  • We will participate in local events such as, The Community Wellness Fair and Mayor Summer Night Lights.
  • Continue to our random, yet meaningful, acts of service and love to community members.

Our mission is to show love and help meet the day-to-day needs for under-resourced children, youth and families.  Our vision is to give, love and serve genuinely and authentically and to show people that we believe they are a big deal around here! Through us Caleb’s hands can still give, his heart can still show love and his story will save lives.

This organization gives me a place to put my grief and use it for good.  Helping people helps me heal while also keeping me close to Caleb’s heart.  It’s a way I can continue our relationship and feel that it is something he and I do together.  So, with that being said,

Thank you for supporting us and for helping us help our community!! #ClarksvilleStrong
